Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu had the privilege of joining President John Dramani Mahama at the Accra College of Education to officially launch the Free Tertiary Education Policy for Persons with Disabilities yesterday, October 2025.
This innovative initiative aims to improve inclusive access to higher education in Ghana. The launch, themed “Disability Not Inability: Advancing Inclusive Access to Higher Education under the Reset Agenda,” marks a key milestone in the country’s commitment to social justice, equity, and human development. This policy fulfills a major promise of President Mahama’s Reset Agenda, reaffirming the government’s pledge to ensure every Ghanaian—regardless of physical ability—can pursue higher education and contribute to national progress.
The event gathered important stakeholders from education, advocacy groups, and the disability community, all sharing a vision of a more inclusive and fair Ghana.
